Singapore UN-Habitat International Leaders in Urban Governance Programme (SGUNHiLUGP)
The CLC, in partnership with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Singapore under its Singapore Cooperation Programme (MFA SCP), and UN-Habitat, has been at the forefront of driving global urban governance through the Singapore-UN-Habitat International Leaders in Urban Governance Programme (SGUNHiLUGP).

Overview
The programme draws successes from on several case studies of Singapore's urbanisation journey and UN-Habitat's global expertise to provide practical tools and strategies for sustainable development, which culminate into an enriching learning experience with opportunities for the participants to conceptualise their own Urban Development Action Plans and to explore potential collaborations with Singapore’s private sector companies.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2016, CLC and UN-Habitat hope to attract at least 100 cities to benefit from participating in the SGUNiLUGP by 2030. With five editions of the programme already held from 2017 onward in which close to 60 cities from the African and Latin American regions have attended, CLC’s commitment to UN-Habitat and the global community will continue to drive the momentum to reach the goal of realising sustainable urban development ambitions especially in emerging cities.
SGUNHiLUGP continues to be a pivotal platform to foster sustainable urban governance and international collaboration, empowering cities worldwide to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 11: Making cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable, and supporting UN-Habitat’s New Urban Agenda through knowledge-sharing and capability development.
