Synopsis
What comes after the “smart city”? As artificial intelligence, data and digital technologies rapidly reshape how we understand and plan our cities, the opportunity is no longer simply to make cities smarter, but to make them more responsive to the people who live in them. From AI and predictive tools to technologies that help us understand how people interact with their cities, new innovations are enabling cities to anticipate and respond to the changing needs and plan more liveable and resilient places.
The city of the future will not be defined by how much technology it has, but by how intelligently it uses technology to understand complex urban systems, explore alternative futures and support more informed decision-making. This CLC Lecture brings together speakers from the government, industry and academia to share how the rapid growth of AI and technology is transforming the way cities are planned and managed as living adaptive systems, and the various digital tools that are being used to harness data and translate insights into shaping better places and everyday experiences. This will be followed by a moderated Q&A session.
